Can I connect my laptop to a projector while installing ubuntu

I will have a lecture about installing ubuntu dual boot windows and basics of Linux
I tried the virtual box but it has some errors and I haven't time to fix it

Should be possible, since the Ubuntu-installation runs out of an ubuntu live-system.

AFAIK no since the drivers for the display output will be installed by the OS, but maybe the BIOS might handle some stuff, I just don't know.

If it's a desktop it most likely be able to display something on the projector as at least one monitor should be required

If you connect it through hdmi or whatever the computer has, it sure should

@ZioCain It more than likely (I say with plausible deniability) will just duplicate the display and show it in a low resolution. That's at least what it has done for me with my two screens at home

you could try it by buying a hdmi scrern capture device

Also don't you have access to the projector beforehand so you can see if it actually works?

Sometimes the BIOS has an option to default to an external monitor instead if the laptop's screen. Another gotcha: If the laptop has switchable graphics, check which outputs can be driven by which graphics card. If you have to use an output which is internally routed only to the dedicated graphics, it would be better to switch the integrated graphics off via BIOS, so the live disk only loads the appropriate drivers.
