Finding a dev for our dutch team is hard. Our demands are not that big. Can be a junior or senior php guy. Bit of front end required. Any tips? How would you like to be contacted?

We are a company, so far still with me as only dev. We tried putting out job vacancies but so far no luck. Was hoping people here would share how they prefer to find their jobs. Via which channels. Do you like to be contacted or contact companies yourself etc. Hoping to learn and find a colleague dev that way :)

I'm from the Netherlands myself, and honestly, I usually just see the job listing ads on stackoverflow.com, or I get a message on LinkedIn.

If it's neither rofl those two options, it's probably a referral.

Maybe also make sure your listing and project are attractive to the reader, I wouldn't even check out the add if it's unclear what I'm going to be doing and usually, the offers aren't as good as what I have right now.

@FMashiro thx for your input. Do you dislike being contacted by headhunters? Or not important by whom?

@ctrlz I personally don't mind being contacted by headhunters, although I prefer getting an email, and setting up a phone appointment so that I don't get disturbed at a random moment during my day (or evening)

@Letmecode interesting. Never thought about using Twitter. We are a Dutch team atm so preferably yes. If you like Dutch people, why do you still live in Germany? ;)

@ctrlz you're welcome, if I may ask, would you mind sharing the company / project that this post is about? I know a few devs looking for a php development position, maybe they'll be interested!

I usually reach out to places, I would prefer them reaching out to me ;)
But only if they read up on me and not try to get me for a javascript job when I'm a java dev (for example)

@yarwest haha yes but that's what you get with non dev headhunters I guess. Unless told otherwise everything with java is fine. :)

I know a really good php dev, available because of bad luck. I'll ask him...

@Lukas that's great. If he sends me an email (email is above), I will share further details. Maybe devrant should start job listing weekly rant :)

I am from Belgium, have about a year or 2 of PHP expertise. I can also code in HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

@Jonaskeuh just a guess but is that an application :) ? Could you send your resume to Rob at yubu.co? I can then send you the job description as well :)
