1) Practice practice practice.
2) Show off your practice projects.
3) Apply like crazy.
4) Get lucky.
5) Work your ass off.
6) Don't get burned out.
7) Get burned out.
8) Leave the industry.
9) Never return.

Repeat steps 1-6 as much as possible without proceeding onto step 7, lest you chance steps 8 and 9.
