HR manager of a company I had applied for called me using her mobile phone. Is it me, or is it unprofessional? I never ever use my mobile phone to call a customer. I am thinking about withdrawing the application based solely on this. Any suggestions?

Aren't you overreacting a bit? It's not uncommon to have a work mobile phone or at least a sim card dedicated to work.

    You really should.

Managers think they can do anything sometimes but since it’s just monkey manager you might let this one slide. Although 10/10 unprofessional move by monkeyboss.

There are a lot of valid reasons for it. Perhaps the manager goes to a side room to make calls that are private. Mobile does not mean personal. Also some phone solutions use the mobile number everywhere also on the viop phones.

One of their engineers called me on his mobile phone as well. It's either a company policy to prove senior staff with work mobiles, or lack of discipline on senior staff's behalf

Why would they not use mobile phones? Isn't the whole point of owning a mobile phone to recieve and do phone calls?

For example my only phone is my mobile phone and for a lot of people it's the same. There's nothing unprofessional about it.

If I was hiring and the candidate withdrew their application because I called them from my mobile, chances are they wouldnt have been a good fit for my team.
