They made me pretend to be an expert on an enterprise-level job with only a few days of study. It was for a role not even related to what I do....

    That's probably because they sold you as an expert to a client, and want to reap the profit.

    Happens all the time in consulting - problem is you then end up stuck in the middle with people shouting at you from all sides to get it done.

    @zvyn They sold me as an Analytics expert. My background is in backend development.

    @AlmondSauce I thought so too. But this would be highly unethical since the client really requires an expert. Not just some guy with less than a week of training.

    @AlmondSauce Yeah. I'm going to talk to the person in charge and mention this to them. If I can't get a solution, I would have no choice but to present my resignation. I can't live with this level of stress...
