    Because it is a horrible crapshoot.

    Not all databases support the same types as java, so hibercrap, sometimes makes wrong guesses when creating the POJOs, and sql bindings. And then you get weird issues.

    Because goddamn just use JDBC and get on with your life it's not even hard now is it

    Too "magic".

    Great when it works, horrible to debug when it doesn't.
