Why does everything have to be so open source? Just an alternative would suffice 🙄
-
SomeNone7115yMakes me wonder, what did you ask, and how? Was it written like the last paragraph of your question here, with no minimal example? In that case, I am not surprised about your question being massively downvoted.
-
@M1sf3t It's voluntary to answer questions. If you can't just ignore the same old stupid asf questions then you should probably not be on there
-
@Stuxnet SO is not intended as forum where you ignore irrelevant threads. It is not intended as help desk either. When people ask without understanding this, it is completely reasonable to kick them out.
-
@Fast-Nop i mean you're not wrong but there's also no need to be unnecessarily cunty either. You chose to be there so don't bitch whenever people are using it.
-
@Stuxnet They don't use it, they ABuse it. SO isn't a handholding therapy either. There's no point in and not enough manpower for catering for every snowflake who didn't bother to read what SO is even about. Getting rid of them with as little spent effort as possible is the way out.
-
@M1sf3t it's amazing how a standard deviation can make someone a fucking genius sometimes.
Hell, maybe MOST of the time even.
I meant for this to be a compliment but no matter how I tried I think it came off insulting. -
saas13015y@StopWastingTime ask the question here with a question tag, you'll more likely get an answer :)

@SomeNone i haven't made 450 rep asking stupid questions. I don't jave a good command over English, but i try to cover that up by providing extensive details, screenshots , error logs and sometimes even mini prototypes when i ask a question on SO.
this is supposed to be a more casual platform. Here i have found solutions to a lot of my tech and non tech problems in plain 1on1 talks. So if you are some knowledgeable in kotlin who didn't understood my question, i would be happy to provide more details. -
@Kashmir The problem is that this approach is exclusively for the benefits of the juniors. The seniors don't get anything out of this, so why would they invest the work?
-
The problem with this forum is that smart as comments get upvoted. So there is that.
-
@Kashmir Senior devs have two magic secrets at their disposal: actually reading error messages, and googling when reading doesn't clear up the issue.
When they're really frustrated, they google something like "why does this piece of shit not work" and find devRant. -
I have found SO to be a valuable resource. However, I don't use it enough to feel like I could contribute significantly. I can generally find answers on my own so I don't typically really need to post questions. In recent times, when I have asked questions, I have received changes and responses that discouraged me from using the platform in that way. For instance I asked a question on Stack Code Review about functional programming approaches in C++. The code I wanted review for happened to be code to calculate the winning combos on a tic tac toe game. The first thing that happened was the title was changed to be about reviewing tic tac toe combination code. That is NOT what I wanted. I wanted people who were knowledgeable in functional programming to review the code. The title didn't draw the devs I wanted to attract. The experience really made me wonder about the people who make changes. They didn't ask as to my intent at all. I was bewildered.
We need an open-source alternative to stack overflow. They have fucking monopolizing pieces of ratshit admins there and lame ass bots.
I HAD A FUCKING 450 REP :/ and now i have "reached my question limit"
I mean its okay of you want to keep stackoverflow clean , but straight out rejecting the new queries should be against your god damn principles, if those mofos have any!
If it is so easy to downvote and delete a question for the mods, why can't they create a trash site called dump.stackoverflow.com ? whenever a question is not following their stupid guidelines , downvote it to oblivion. After a certain limit, that question goes to dump space where it will be automatically removed after 30 days. Atleast give us 30 fucking days to gather attention of audience !
And how does a question defines someone's character that you downright ban the person from asking new questions? Is there a phd that we should be doing in our mother's womb to get qualified as legitimate question author?
"No questions are stupid" is what we usually hear in our school/college life. And that's a stretch, i agree. Some questions are definitely stupid. But "Your questions are so stupid we are removing you from the site" is the worst possible way to deal with a question asker.
Bloody assholes.
Now, can anyone tell me that if am passing a parcelable list of objects in an intent before starting a new activity, how can i retrieve it in the new activity without getting any kotlin warnings?
The compiler is saying that the data coming via intent is that of list<Type!> aka list of platform type, so how to deal with this warning?
