well, I had OSx running on an old gateway laptop for a while 😂 I didn't use it, I just wanted to do a proof of concept thing. I do think the Hackintosh's are pretty cool

No, I mean taking a computer that's 1/10 the price and running better software, aside from a Linux distro...

Yup ...... Before install Boot issue (mainly)
After 1. Gfx 2.NIC (wifi)
Power optimization if it's a laptop

& as per my view after install use a image (250mb partition is enough) to boot up your Hac is a lot way better than norm guide to boot up the OS X using a excludable to add boot record directly to installer partition

@flipski ran a quad 2 core hack for many years. After getting 4 hard drives corrupted, I bought a Mac Pro. Updates are a mission but tonymac to the rescue. I loved my hackintosh to death but when when the time came to update I had to bite the bullet and pony up the $$$.

On a pinch and tight budget, I'd build one again in a heart beat.
