L33tCh4108y@Numinex Hehe, indeed... And it's a 700mb update each time so been great for my data usage :( but it was a fresh install, I'm considering considering just blocking the routes to MS update servers until they get this problem sorted... It's not everyone but there are enough people with the issue that they have to sort it out! One hopes...

This has been my life since windows 10. Fortunately I only have one computer using 10
-
donuts236728yI've never seen this one. Last time I tried undoing a change (Win 10 upgrade), the whole thing crashed and I needed to do a clean reinstall...
Worst of all, didn't feel like installing 8 (have key for), then upgrading to 8.1, so ended up doing a full install of 10, which I also had a key for.
At least Win 10 is much better now... It sorta feels like Win 8.1 again. -
L33tCh4108y@StefanH Thanks, but I did try that a week or so ago... Might be worth another go though I guess. @NTLDev The ISO I used was from last month so yes, I must check if there's a newer one out now. @allanx2000 I do prefer 10 to 8 so happy to deal with it for now... Also happily have it only on one of my machines and the updates aren't effecting the gaming b(why it's there)

Hey did you ever solve the issue?
Where are you getting your ISO if you don't mind me asking?
My college has an agreement with Microsoft and with my major I get all Microsoft products free with a key of course (with the exception of the office suite). I'd happily give you an IS0 of whichever OS you need, or the file to download it (they make you get it through this downloader) -
L33tCh4108yHey @QuantumAtom. To be honest I've been a bit lazy, haven't tried the fixes again recently or a reinstall... But the problem hasn't sorted itself out at all. At least it's still usable. It does seem like a reinstall is the best way though as only some people have this issue. But thanks for the offer. I have the same situation so no worries but MS have the ISO here: https://microsoft.com/en-gb/...

No worries. But ahh okay. It's good to hear it's still usable, hopefully it gets sorted out. -
L33tCh4108y@QuantumAtom Thanks. Yep, it's my gaming machine and doesn't have any performance hit... Just haven't had time to sort it out lately, or game for that matter :( Hehe, I'm hoping just re-installing over itself will fix it (if not the wait-and-see technique which isn't quite working right now), then I don't have to redo the other software installs...

It's good there's no performance hit though, that would get me even more frustrated. But I totally get that. I'm kind of in a position where I am going to have to completely reinstall windows and a vast amount of applications but I'm just pushing it back till cybermonday to buy a new drive or two and it'll make it all a lot easier to do the transitioning. Especially since I am dual booted it adds a little to the task.
I would try moving all the games and big data to a second drive and then that way just mainly the OS and few other tools (if you'd want) are on the main drive and it'll be easier to reinstall. -
L33tCh4108y@QuantumAtom Luckily I've done most of that, (hence being lazy, hehe) games on a USB3 external (I used to use them on multiple machines) and apps and data on a RAID with the OS on an SSD. The recent and problematic install was just when I moved to a larger SSD ... Ah well, gonna try a bit but wait n see and then if not sorted well final get off my arse and reinstall
-
cipher6488y@L33tCh
Lol that explains!
But oh wow. That's a pretty sweet setup.
I want to move to a larger SSD as well. Why was it problematic if I make ask? Just for future reference in case I run into a problem. -
L33tCh4108y@QuantumAtom I just refer to these update problems... The rest was a breeze and I do prefer 10 to 8 and I even see less storage usage and since performance improvement over 7.
-
cipher6488y@L33tCh
Ahh okay. And I've noticed performance improvements but haven't paid too much attention to storage. That's interesting.
