1- Yell "sudo develop IDE --forlinux --VSlike" to your developer friends that use linux.

3- Profit -
vchris638y@g-m-f I did but found that it was missing publishing functionality and I'm just used to how VS works.

devJoe27168yMe too, I use it for node js, its really an awesome tool, but the sudden crashes with windows, really terrible

vchris638yWhat about installing win7 on a VM under Linux? I believe you can have whatever windows app open by itself without the VM window.

tiksn608yEvery time I tried to use Linux I stumbled upon the same issue. After installing Linux I want to install VS automatically. After realizing that I can't I do not know what to do in Linux. I feel like housewife without dev tools. There is no real alternative for VS in Linux world. Though I like Windows 10 especially new command line small improvements. It is buggy I admit. But Ubuntu is also buggy. I remember once I installed Ubuntu. It says that I have updates and I chose to install. Nothing were working after updates. I lost GUI. Only command line interface.

vchris638ySame here I'll stick to windows until Linux can truly compete in the ease of use department.

willol13898yI second the suggestion of JetBrains IDEs (PhpStorm in this case). Best IDEs I've ever used
First rant guys!
I'm a .net and PHP developer and love visual studio. I also hate windows 10 and it's stupid surprise reboots. Twice I switched to Linux mint but returned to windows because of the IDE. Been on VS (with PHP tools) for too long and nothing on Linux comes close to VS not to mention the lack of .net 4.6 (no mono) on Linux. M$ make Visual Studio 2015 cross platform!
