I've been to 4 kubernetes related tech talks and they've all been the fucking same. No depth, no new cool things, no little tricks or demonstrations, just the plain old boring shit I've seen a thousand times.

I've worked with it and love it for big projects, but going to conventions to hear someone talk about it is completely meaningless. Perhaps it's because I only learn by doing.

And before anyone says 'then don\'t go', I usually go with either friends or a colleagues and want to show my face, and have some drinks and snacks.

@theKarlisK you don't have to know much to step on a stage and hold a prepared talk / presentation. Be ready for some usually simple questions or throw them back into the crowd if you don't know the answer

Then... do an advanced talk of your own.
I once took a 300 dev crowd with me for a deep tour of the GC internals of Andorid. It was fun!

Yeah, I'm surprised these talks are still happening. Kubernetes is great and all, but... forgive me for saying so, there's really only *so* much you can learn about it without diving into how it's implemented (which is irrelevant for most.) It's got some cool features, but it's been around for long enough now that nearly everyone who's interested has done a deep dive on all it has to offer.
