Kind of reminds me about a quoted dialog, from some dev magazine circa 1990, between a dev and some typographer proudly showing off his new typesetting software,

So, don't write you web apps in HTML. Write them in Unicode.

I used HTML for websites and can recommend it. Works really well and even IE8 supports it!
