For what? I worked somewhere where a junior decided we should have done in LaTeX. It was horrible, and I love LaTeX. Doc is also bad. Markdown?

620hun83748yThe latest Word is amazing for the purpose it was made for. But come on, code in something that was made for coding.
-
devs30818y@Charmgoggles how? My current setup is with jekyll and mathjax, but it's really noth the best. However, I couldn't really find any nice method to write latex with markdown.
-
Pointer32508yLately I've been writing my school papers with Markdown, then export it to docx with Pandoc and it's ready!
I write faster that way than dealing with damn Word UI and other stuff -
@Artemix @apex Do you know about org mode? It's an emacs mode so if you don't use emacs it's probably not a good idea, but if you do...
-
@Artemix it's mainly about making lists, sublists, but does a lot more. Make todolists, add deadlines, collapsing sections... And since it's text based it's diffable.
-
@Artemix since it's text based, any text editor would do, I guess it's all in the shortcuts that make it fast. I don't use it much, but people who do it enough seem to love it.
-
Pointer32508y@Artemix I also export it to PDF, but mainly docx because some of my teachers just don't want PDF, I don't know why...
Now I am afraid to open Microsoft Word, because there is always someone asking me "Why not use LaTeX?".
