    Meanwhile, I'm eying a 3400G "entry level" APU which would still be 2.5 times faster than my current Phenom2-1100T with all cores, but at half of the power draw. Even singlethread would be 60% faster. And it's not like I'm having performance problems with the 1100T.

    @Fast-Nop I waited till my only computer a laptop stopped working acceptably, and then I finally spent some big bucks I had saved up.
    Hope this one lasts me 5 years or so.

    @saucyatom Yeah, I know, but I don't see significant advantages because the GPUs havn't really been improved, neither the single-thread CPU performance, and I don't have workloads for 8 cores (resp. 16 with SMT).
