I have a piece of thick paper with lines across it that I put behind the paper I’m working on so I can roughly keep straight lines, then come up with something to write, flip through The Calligrapher’s Handbook until I find an alphabet I want to practice, then look up the stroke order of each letter and try to do them justice.
