I noped out of the coffee communism in my company. It's always the same assholes who just take the last cup out of the thermos jug and don't set up a new one. I'm fed up with this shit, and the company coffee itself is also cheap. I'm with my French Press and custom coffee now.

@iiii Indifference to public goods is exactly why communism doesn't work - in communism, most stuff is a public good.

The problem has been known for centuries as "tragedy of the commons", and the only solution is strict social control along with personal consequences.

Seriously. I was the only person who would make coffee at my last on site with a client. By the time I got back to it, it was gone again.

SLPT If you want people to care more about the coffee make it wrong a few times. People are more attentive to wrong than absent.

@irene That happens by itself when any non-engineer makes coffee that is hardly distinguishable from dish water.
