Senior Developer is a title that you get from working at the same company for over 5 years but you don't learn anything new within those 5 years.

Close your damn divs!!!

I still find it odd when I get introduced as a senior developer. I place value litter value on titles, and to a lesser extent experience.

Jr devs that are hungry to learn and pick up quickly have impressed me for more often than a senior guy that's stuck in his ways.

@darksign The trick is to be a senior dev that hasn't lost the will to learn and keep themselves updated.

I heard a great Chris Coyer podcast (CSStricks.com for those not in the know) where he had a roundtable with a bunch of execs in the biz and their consensus was that Senior Dev title shoukd not be given due to tenure but rather to those who are a "force multiplier"; people who push the team around them to achieve greater and teach them practices and tools to get there. I'd have to agree.
