kamen69254yHave you heard Marc Rizzo? I think he has flamenco background and yet plays with Soulfly and Cavalera Conspiracy. I think he does both very well (his solo work has a lot of flamenco in it).
P.S. I'm not a musician, just an avid listener, so I don't know how valid my opinion is. -
Working your way in with some bossa nova will get you into the movements easier. Try Chiquilin de Bachin by Astor Piazzolla.

@SortOfTested the left hand movements and the finger picking on the right are pretty decent with me, is the things like rumba mixing them with golpe without scratching the hell out of my fingers what makes me cry during rasgados. Slowly but surely. I should 100 should have started with more basic things rather than completely jumping the gun and going De Lucia.
That is a good suggestion tho! Do you listen to this kind of music all the time? Give me more names plz! -
@F1973 i normally stuck with thrash, glam, death metal, neoclassical and new wave of British heavy metal. I like tons of blues and old 70s rock too. But I swear man all of that came from just messing around with a metronome, metal sounds super impressive but it ain't really asking for anything over classical, jazz and Spanish style of guitar.

@F1973 you can always pick that knowledge with a time and practice man. Of course it will be way different from someone that went to school for it, but for the rest of us as a hobby it is pretty reachable. There are some amazing resources online for it if you are interested :D

devJs13264yPaco de Lucia is crazy good, one of the best IMHO! Don't beat yourself too much and just take baby steps. My friend started his guitar playing by learning flamenco and similar styles first, later he could easy play stuff from vai and satrianni.
He actually played 'for the love of god' perfectly live on stage, every note, every effect and even had some cheap shitty guitar for noobs. Learning flamenco and spanish style is no small feat!
I also like the genres you played before. I like bands from rainbow and zepplin all the way to the thrash, melodeath, death and black metal!
Just keep doing it, you will get better by time, just be stubborn and patient about the whole thing and try to enjoy the process more!
Sending good vibes your way my rock and metal brother!
Moving to flamenco when you have been a metal guitarist all your life is.....painful.
I know fingerstyle guitar picking, but shit is 100% not enough.
Now I was not expecting it to NOT be difficult, but certainly not: cry in your room at night considering if you have what it takes difficult.
10/10 Paco De Lucia ys way tf beyond me.
