Not in stock roms (without hella lot of fixing), but Cyanogenmod has built-in support for ext4.
I tried to get my ext4 card working on my stock xperia rom but got stuck in permissions. I could do # ls /storage/sdcard1 but only as root, so normal apps wouldn't work.

My phone uses exfat 🤔 (S7)
