What the heck COVID!

All the days have been blending together for the past 6 mo! What day of the week is this? Who am I? What's the meaning of life? Have I ever left the house?

Not going outside, getting alienated from my friends, getting somewhat anxious for no good reason...

Its so weird! This eery, suffocating stillness.

Alas! I hope the day comes soon that I may frolic in the multitudes of people!

I really do miss the office at my previous job. The office was nice. The people were nice. I could work in silence, or chat with semi-friends, or play pool, or dice, or bother other people. I miss the humor, I miss my boss, I miss seeing people enjoying my work. I miss pizza fridays. I miss everything except the 35 minute drive.

Combination of three things:

-The US has a small but vocal and incredibly shitty undercurrent of puritanical shitheads who think other people having differing standard of propriety is an attack on their person.

-the sheer number of men who were born on third base and don't realize it; they turn belligerent, abusive or hostile when their advances are rebuffed. They're also the type who think it's OK to solicit someone lower in their reporting hierarchy. They think anyone they find attractive owes them something.

-Hr accepts no risk to the company. Fraternizing is listed as verboten in most handbooks.

To me, it's distracting as shit when people aren't discrete about it. I have some stories on that topic...

Most of us just focus on work and avoid the situation entirely.

@SortOfTested Spot on with US HR. It's the land where HR policies and practices are described as logical due to legal outcomes.... but in reality it is very much a spin of the rando wheel.
