Wow! It's outstanding how one can receive laptops every birthday.
Have you told her you didn't need any more laptop?
Or is she too stubborn to see it annoys you? -
@F1973 @neeno @Berkmann18 @AleCx04 oh god not regularly, once every ~4 years. mid tier however, $450-$550. if my family could afford that i'd probably just buy my own laptop.

@calmyourtities That's better but still, why not spend more on one that will last longer than that?
-
@calmyourtities hm.
I wouldn't say irrational. They're caring.
Honestly, I'm a bit triggered. Paying a laptop - even in the 200 $ range - is a lot of money, like - a mfugging lot - depending on job, income and debt.
I don't want to judge... But please. Think about that. -
@IntrusionCM My first proper laptop was a 700€ Dell and it's been falling apart since year two. It's on its fourth year now and I'm just waiting until some vital component croaks, I don't even want to know how bad the cheap laptops are in terms of manufacturing quality.

@sudo-woodo yeah.
But I think you understood my comment?
Sometimes it's more giving a thought about how (!) someone made it happened instead of the value.
It's a very personal thing - but maybe appreciate the thought and the care more instead of being focused on the value? -
@IntrusionCM Wow yeah, It's 2 AM and I totally misunderstood your last comment, my B.
dear mom,
i know you mean well, but please stop getting me laptops for my birthday. i spend countless hours fixing wifi and graphics card and other drivers because of this.
