Anyone here tried the Elementary distro? If so, what did you think of it? I'm currently running Ubuntu which I like a lot, but Elementary looks quite nice so might give it a go ☺️

It's realy nice to look at and use, but unfortunatly i found it to be not yet as stable as ubuntu, because of the custom adjusments to the gui.

Give it a try in virtualbox :)

I love the look and feel and smooth animations. The UI and settings are pretty basic and simple compared to many other desktop environments, but for me it's enough and the existing features are implemented well.

On my desktop it runs stable.
With a Surface Pro there were some minor issues, but then again no Linux distro runs without problems on that thing.

I used to use elementary ,liked pantheon Desktop for a while and then I got tired of its looks, looks much like Mac osx as default.

@Mitch377 and that's not the only reason I didn't use pantheon.I realised the dock at the bottom only starts about 3-5 seconds later than the entire desktop I got Irritated with that too.

@Mitch377 elementary OS as default is not my cup of tea.

Its alright. But my favourite window managers is "awesome". I was enjoying it a lot until I had to move to mac because of ios development.

Stay on ubunt lot better than elementary as elementary is not stable and you may go insane with its crashes

@rehman Bullshit. I installed elementary on a Surface Pro, 2 different laptops and my desktop PC and it always worked fine.
I had MUCH more problems with Ubuntu.

@deadlyRants dude I had a dell inspireon i3 and it was terrible experience, while Ubuntu 15 is perfect

@rehman That's nice but my experiences were the total opposite. Linux compatibility is often a matter of trial-and-error but with eOS I've generally gotten better experiences than with Ubuntu.
