No no, I mean software in the distro by default, like Canonical Store @spongessuck

Try Mint (Cinnamon edition), Ubuntu Gnome Edition, Elementary OS, and Xubuntu on a Virtual Box.

iAmNaN68458yCentOS. Very intuitive setup, all the bells and whistles and games, great user community and app support. It's very professional all the way around. Very configurable; no bloat-ware.

I've been using Elementary OS in the last year and I'm really happy with it. Although I will give Solus Project a try again next year, they have a really great env, it isn't mature yet but evolving fast.

@mrbongiolo this seems exactly like what I'm looking for (Elementary). Thank you!

SteakMou18yI'd say Linux Mint, based on Ubuntu but very simple to use when you're coming from Windows

Oversmart348yI think what you didn't like about Ubuntu is its desktop environment. However Ubuntu is really easy to use, with a huge amount of community support.
I would suggest you install Minimal Ubuntu. As the name suggests, it gives you a really minimal installation. At the end of it, you just get a command line. Then you can install a desktop environment (also called GUI), that you like, whether it is Unity, KDE or Mate.
You won't have any unwanted bloatware, and it will be a really nice learning experience.
PS: My suggestion is to use KDE -

This is exactly what I meant...
You all got different answers 😂 -
@FitzSuperUser Sure we do, since we have many options. I think it would be better if all those developers would work on one highly customizable profile based distro :)
Quick question: I've been using Windows almost all my life, I tried Ubuntu but I didn't like it. What linux OS do you guys recommend?
