Is it just me or is Java really uninspiring as a language? And are there any Java build tools that don't sound like 90-year-old women? Maven, Gradle...

What exactly do you find uninspired?

@Makenshi It's just a feeling. I guess a combination of the verbose syntax and the fact that all the 90s-developers-turned-professors at my university love it.

@jlave215 I see. ; - ) Well, keep an open mind! Java is a nice language for a lot of projects. Keep it around as a tool. You will also find occasions where it clear is the wrong language. Don't dismiss it in advanced because it has the vibe of being "uncool".
