You should use one that suits what you are doing, the way you work and doesn't slow you down. As a web developer and Mac man I use Coda by panic, a native app. It covers all my bases with tonnes of useful coding features.

Although, joking aside, I used my own home build editor for several years before I couldn't port it to my work machine, I'd used emacs before at uni so promptly took the unconventional advice of "better the devil you don't know" and installed gVim.
I love its navigation and key bindings!
