Freelancing sucks. "A good developer told me this should take a couple hours." Or "I need an Uber like app with built in payment and social integration. We have a $50 budget and it shouldn't take more than a day or two to build." Or "I need a simple game built. Should work on Apple and Android. No budget but we could work out a share of profits." Really wish I had a real job...

You need to go in having a set price for your work. A base price for websites with and additional fee per page.

I had to use different pricing for different types of websites.

    Good luck!

@RexOmni I do IOS development but a price per view could be a cool way to go. I switched to project quotes after my first project in which I attempted to charge hourly...

No freelancing does not suck, or at least not where I live. I am freelancing for a couple of years now and can honestly say that I have worked for well known companies doing very cool and challenging projects. And they payed me very well: an agreed hourly rate for every hour I have worked, without any hassle. I love freelancing and doing contract projects pays very good too.

I never ever do any small projects for small companies anymore because that does suck big time! So if you want to freelance do only contract projects.

Keep looking for a better opportunity - there are plenty of them (long term and paid well). Don't judge on freelancing by few random picks from upwork strangers. Good luck!

Same shit in NY. They want everything in no time and for free.

@gatgeagent @uddinstock I find these opportunities through LinkedIn. There are many agencies specialized in contracts for freelancers.
