Just do your part of it as you would with a decent backend (difficult without the logic, but if you're confident it'll work then it will), then he'll be at fault for the missed deadline. Also tell your manager or PM. If all else fails and you have enough time, direct him towards an API course. Hope this helps and the force be with you!

If your company or PM is not using something like Jira or Trello, convince them to do it. Then make them create tasks for both of you. Mark his tasks as blocker of yours to reflect reality. Then make them add you to his tasks too, telling it's "pair programming" and you need to do it because that way the API will be perfect for your apps. You get accountability that way.
PS: Choose better your insults, next time. Some people will not want to ++ your rant because of your vocabulary. -
@Eariel I highly doubt these guys know how what Trello or JIRA is ,let alone using it.

I am working on a project with a retard.
I am supposed to focus on the mobile apps but the backend guy doesn't know shit about REST.I spend more time teaching him how to serialize data into JSON and telling him not to store passwords as plaintext(He's now using md5 despite me telling him to use bcrypt) than developing the mobile apps am supposed to.
