Between 6 and 8 hours. Below that i'm still "operational", but my performance suffers a great deal.

Hello there.
I sleep for somewhere between 4-6 hours and drink an unhealthy amount of energy drinks -
taijidude608yAbout 7 hours. Going to bed around 23:30 - 23:45 and getting up around 7 in the morning.
-
asgs112758y@thmnmlst no, 3-4 hours is kind of rare. Majority of people needs at least 6 hours. You may be a young dev, not taking enough care. But in the longer run, lack of sleep is going to cost badly
-
Between seven and eight and a half is usually best for me. It depends on how/where I sleep, though.
-
moqs568y@thmnmlst It is sounds brutal. I am doing karate and going to gym so every day I have very intense 1 and a half hour training. My body is usually sore so I need a mininum 8 hour of sleep but it would be better if i could keep up with less sleep.. When i am not sleeping enough i could sleep sitting at my desk. :D

sam05928yOn ideal days when i have no obligation to wake up early in the morning i sleep 5 to 6 hours and in normal days when i have to wake early and stuf i sleep 4 to 5 hours at least i try, i have no problem with 5 hours of sleep, i'm convinced that 5 hours of sleep is good enough to stay happy all the day, after work / studying the whole day i go to gym or sport for 2 to 3 hours and code during late night without any kind of regrets... Sleep is only needed when the body force you to unless it does it's no need... I think i hate sleeping....

I do crossfit for about 4-5 times a week, and I definitely need about 8 hours sleep for my body to recover. I avoid eating any carbs for lunch so I don't slack in performance.
-
jamiek945308y7 - 8. I fitness 3 times a week and drink like 4 cups of coffee a day. I do have a lot of energy :D
-
I think it depends a lot on how old you are. For me, ~5 hours is enough to be somewhat productive. I can also get 3h of sleep for a month and keep going, but that results in many more hours of bad coding and fixing stupid mistakes because I wasn't maintaining enough focus.
Also, coffee. -
boo19974048yAtleast 7-8 hours for me to maintain an optimum performance. If it goes down to 6 or even 5 hours, performance won't take much hit, but anything below that will result in a drastic hit on performance, I will simply linger around everywhere with sleepy face and an almost dizzy head.
But then again, with huge energy requirements comes guaranteed performance and results 😂😉. -
I can keep normal performance for days with 4-6 hours, but eventually I have to rest 12+ hours to recover, it also depends on your routine and the food you eat.
Hi guys!
How much sleep do you need to have enough energy for the day?
Specially interested about the daily sporting coders.
