Put together a good business case with reasonings and evidence. Even add some potential options and costs.
Even if he shoots the idea down he'll appreciate and remember the initiative and effort, and it shows you know what you're talking about. -
UltimaQ6708y@AnonymousGuy would it help if I get the certs? Not too sure if I should at the moment since money is kinda tight. That being said, thank you for the input and I'll start making that asap.

@UltimaQ To be honest with you the Systems side of things is not my area, so I don't know how much weight different certifications hold.
As a Software Dev, I've managed to go without any other certifications other than my degree, and have been fine, but I know some people put a lot of stock in the Microsoft Certifications too, so I do think a lot of it is personal opinions and personal experiences! -
UltimaQ6708y@AnonymousGuy I really appreciate your input and I think I'm gonna try to push for them paying for it after I get some interest in the whole idea

@UltimaQ sounds like a good idea, especially if you win them over with a good business case!
And you're welcome for the input, @ me whenever you want ☺️

I have a strong Linux background but everyone here uses windows.
I think that they need a server but I don't think I can just go up to my boss and say "hey, I know I'm not certified yet but hows about you give me money so I can set up a server for you?"
