The scale of outside / private education scams in India seems too damn high....
I want to say there was a post or story on HN that kind of explained this phenomenon from their perspective a bit. It seemed to put the coding camps in the US to shame in terms of scale. Sad stuff. -
It's odd how it's known as a bad bootcamp in the West, yet local people don't seem aware of that.
Also, tags don't need the # on this platform. -
It's very famous. Mainstream YouTubers have already picked it up.
It's already mass bashed especially because of it's toxic ad campaign -
@N00bPancakes most coding camps atleast teach people useful stuff but whitehat jr is just teaching useless stuff for such a high price.
-
@souvikpunk Oh my. Worry not. The govt won't do shit. Just like it always has. Mob lynching, however, will get this shit done before sunrise.
-
@N00bPancakes Well, code camps are still good for networking/friendship stuff. I attended one once. Made some friends based on the united feeling of "Why tf did we even register"
-
@sudo-compile it is scary bruh and worrisome, a country where teachers dont know the subject they are teaching...this is really shit
Guys so there's thia company called Whitehat jr, who's doing a lot of shady stuff. They pretend to teach kids coding by making them dabble with scratch/block type editor and charge them upto 100000 rupees for the course. Their teachers also dont know coding!!! I feel very bad for the kids who are forced by their parents into all this crap without doing prior research..
