tytho23168yIf you had some kind of language that did array.first(), would you expect it to return array[0]? In that case, 21st century totally makes sense. If you lived in the year 50, that is the first century since the year 0. If you lived in the year 150, it would be the second century since the year 0, and so on. But I guess if you insist that there is a zeroeth century, then be my guest

@tytho I did think of that but it's more something fundamentally wrong with the system.
We should just remove st nd th from the English language and just use the number .... -
xios16488yIt doesn't make sense to me either. Century is 100 years as much as dozen is 12. If you have 6 you don't say that you have a dozen. If you have 1199 you don't say 12 hundred minus one. Same should be applied to counting time. 21st century by logic conveys a meaning that we are living a year that is MORE than 2100 since the beginning of the calendar. It's a logical mistake that has just lived on just as feet, stones, pounds, inches and all the other non metrical approximations that are based on a lamemans guess or body part.
Does it annoy anyone else ... It's called the 21st century not the 20th
I count from 0
