@koopakid93 can't be? sure, but that's like saying "All problems can be solved in assembly" - they can. but there are often simpler ways.

I'm all for a team environment if it's set up to be that way... but if it's just an excuse to monitor people..then fuck that. -

@mattwebdev I love being social, my role with this company just didn't happen to require it. If it did I would have been happy to come into the office.

At this company it was just me and 3 other devs. All of which were at least 20 years older than me, which I didn't mind but they seemed to resent that I had gotten the position in the first place. The one guy I liked left and moved across the country. I ended up leaving. They weren't terrible people it just wasn't a good work environment for me.

@mattwebdev exactly, just like that 😄, our 30 minutes lunch usually extended to 60 or 90 minutes because we were having a good time 🙂, or sometimes just because we liked seeing how our manager got angry because we took so much time 😛
I've only worked once from home... I didn't enjoy it... I was alone all the time (I was working in China and I don't speak chinese 😆) -
@Jumpshot44 I presented that as an option as well, it was a no go. They were very unreasonable.
Seriously, why are so many companies caught up with if there developers working from home or not? Maybe it's where I'm at, but my last boss said ...
" I know you don't have any problem making deadlines and your a good worker, but you still need to come to the office in order to have face to face interaction."
Me: "This is the first face to face conversation I've had with someone in over a week."
Boss: (shrugs)"our goal is to build an office friendly environment where people will enjoy coming into the office"
Me: in my head "your an idiot"... Out loud "Ok"

In reality my custom built machine is better than yours, and I'm more productive in my Sealy Posturpedic chair and pajamas than your wack office chair with you popping your head out of your office every couple hours to "manage" me when you haven't written code in years and i have to teach you things that you bring to your boss to make yourself look smart.
