It's fun getting migraines when you have to stare at a screen for a living. 😐😒😒

Idk why I'm getting more migraines lately.
    It's just what it is.
Now I'm turning myself into a bat. 🦇
I shall live in the silent dark for the time being.
    That boredom tho.

    ... Alternatively...
    Where's me advil?

@NoMad Dark is nice, only issue is when people barge in and turn on the light, blinding us in the process

PS: Have you set up the night light/blue light filter correctly?

@Jilano yeah. But that's not my issue or so I think. I haven't been getting migraines this often for about 2 years now. I had one last week (or the one before? Can't remember) and now this one from last night. So idek what's causing it.

@NoMad Maybe too much stress, and your body is trying to shut down and enforce some rest.

Hmm if these are new, you might want to check your posture. Certain neck strains can give migraine-like symptoms so that might be the cause if you often sit/lie incorrectly?

@NEMESISprj hmm. I shall look out for that. Cheers for telling me.

@NoMad yeah no problem! Hopefully it's as simple as this, way better than actual migraine..

If they're weekly you should look at going to a neurologist. They can prescribe daily meds that will prevent migraines straight out. Way better than getting addicted to Advil. Helped me pretty much immediately. There's a few other small things you can do to cut down chances of them too, but the daily meds seemed to help the most.

Do you get migraine auras as well?
Have you got your eyes checked?

If it isn't just too much stress and too little rest, going low-carb is also known to help against migraine. Actual keto isn't required, just avoiding sugar, white bread, noodles, and other refined high-carb stuff.

I'd try that before switching to meds.

Note for most: I've had migraines for about 10+ years now. It gets better and worse depending on reasons I'm not aware of. So it's not new. It has also never been bad enough that couldn't go away with a day or two of rest and some borderline use of advil. (idk, maybe fam having it is another reason why I never saw a proper neurologist about it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )

@Fast-Nop chances are you're right. The only downside is that I have to face what is pressuring me and at this point, I am honestly not very willing to do that. 😛 #LivingInDenialFTW

Did you abruptly stop caffeine or sugar consumption? That might cause migraines as well
  • 2
@Lyym hahahahahaha. Sugar, yeah. I was going insane writing this last week. So yeah I was constantly high on sugar. Let's see how it goes by the weekend then. I shall watch my posture too and work out more now that I'm practically done.

A small tip is to look around your room once in a while.
Not sure how much of a difference it makes but people usually tell you that focusing your eyes to the same short distance for long periods of time can cause eye strain and head aches, and just looking around at longer distances does help.

@jiraTicket Yeah, I second that. It's IIRC called the 20s rule (or something along the lines of 80/20 on looking at the screen vs at a distance).
