Does anyone in here use skype for business in their work !? How fucking incompetent it is at doing what it should be doing !? If we wanted disappearing messages, we could have used whatever the fuck we wanted.. Not skype from microsoft. Why does my messages get lost, because skype thinks it is not important enough to save ? A line of text is barely a KB..

Also whats the deal with the UI idea of creating seperate windows for chat..? One fine day i am gonna go on a rampage and tear apart my computer because of that incompetent shit..

There's a tickbox in settings, under Personal > Exchange and Outlook integration called "Save IM conversations in my email Conversation History folder". Tick that box to back up your IM chats in outlook.

If that tickbox is not available, get your admin to enable it. If your admin can't enable it, get a new admin.

Oh ok. Let me check. What company thinks it is better to leave that disabled by default !?

Luckily no more. Everyone uses Teams now, which is much better.

@Kairpooph apparently i was the fool here. All this time, it has been silently saving these messages in outlook and i didnt even know. The checkbox was already enabled and i now see 1000 different conversations in the mail..

@purist MS is still kinda to blame for not making the feature clear after all this time - it's only because I've used Skype for Business for at least several years that I even knew such a setting existed.

So fair warning to everyone using Skype for Business - everything you IM is possibly being saved in Outlook as evidence , so be careful ;)
