I usually wake up with an expresso and right before my first line of code, orange flavored g-fuel energy mixed with a shot of vodka.

Come to think of it, I do that *during* programming as well. Maybe time for a career change.

Root797594y• Dreading forcing myself out of bed.
• Dreading work.
• Dreading zoom meetings.
• Dreading the project (screwdriver).
• Dreading not having anyone to talk to at work besides managers — who only care about productivity. Occasionally a coworker, but it’s only because they need something.
• Dreading spending yet another full day working and not accomplishing anything I care about, or enjoying anything.
• Dreading cooking 3 to 8 meals a day and barely getting to eat.
• Dreading doing all of this yet again and going to bed shortly after, only for it to all begin anew tomorrow.
• Dreading the ever-increasing feelings of depression and apathy.
• Looking forward to drinking a cherry energy drink mixed with lemoncillo.
• Looking forward to listening to music (but knowing I won’t be in the mood)
• Looking forward to getting away from the endless noise of children and far too many birds — both of whom give me a headache from the noise and cannot be reasoned with.
• Dreading feeling guilty because this is all too much for me to handle.
• Dreading having to do it anyway so we’re not homeless and starving.
But yeah.
While getting ready in the morning, I do my best to look cute so they’re a little less likely to fire me. -
Sip some tea while I scroll through Reddit for an hour, then YouTube for a few more hours, then take my late morning poo, then play a quick match of battlefield, then eat some lunch, then start coding for about 3 hours straight and call it a day.

@Root look cute? I can imagine the manager saying with his dull manager “brain” (or ganglia of nerves like in jellyfish) “Um root ur we want you to smile more...ahem dur um because it um facilitates emotions for productiv..productivity thingy yeah and revenue ”...later: “hmmm what shall we discuss in our next meeting? I’ll pick sexism. That’ll work. Gotta keep my 500k salary goin bro. Wooo yea. I are so smart...wait dat don’t sound right much...ah whatev durrr

I feel bad for jellyfish, I must’ve insulted them...they’re smarter than product managers, just not as wealthy. But if they can’t replace product managers, robots will

What’s your pre-programming ritual? Personally, I like a shot of rum with a dash of lime.
