Or, it's just a coincidence and you are so much filled with these stuff that blaming Google is the first thing that came to your mind.

@theabbie not sure what you mean by filled. This just came out of nowhere, usually my news feed didn't have any articles about disability though does from ars technica I guess...

@donuts Could be, It's a Pixel phone, if Article is the problem, you can disable personalized articles, I guess.

Which keyboard do you use? Your non-Google app may not leak information to Google, but the Gboard clearly does.

However, a one time occurrence isn't enough data to draw any conclusion. You'd have to test much more to be sure.

Could be coincidence though; there are a a lot of similar (victim mentality, double standard) articles posted every day now.

Is it possible you got that thought because of an article/tweet you read earlier? In that case, Google was not referencing your journal, but the thing which inspired you to jot that journal entry down.

Kind of tangentially related:

2 years ago I was in a collaborative workshop with a bunch of Google engineers (My employer works together with Google quite intensively).

One of them told me about a machine learning model they employ, which makes Google Assistant dumber.

On purpose.

It trains the Assistant to not reveal everything it knows about you, to prevent feelings of distrust.

So maybe your Journal app & Gboard might not leak information, but Google does actively gaslight you, they are playing mindgames to prevent you from knowing everyting they know about you. 🤷‍♀️

Privacy apart, if you see, if this was real, it's amazing how much AI has evolved that it can find similar articles even for such trivial stuff.
