Kimmax109874ySo of all things you didn't check dns? Always start with the most common factor and work your way down, life's easier like that :)
-
@AtuM That's for him to do (or if he pays me, I can do that for him).
@Kimmax Well, I did check the DNS but it was kind of a cascading discovery.
At first, he told me his login (OTP via mail) had errors.
Then I discovered the mail provider yelling at us that we haven't setup some records properly so I checked on the DNS server...
Then I wanted to check something on his Nextcloud, which also didn't work...
So I pinged the root domain... which didn't work...
Then when I logged into his account on his registrar I noticed he had a bunch of bills still there and so then I realized the moron forgot to renew his domain.
So yes, I did work my way down from where I initially started and the domain having expired was later in that chain :^) -
@AtuM Yea, I remember in 2016 when Google lost their domain and paid the renter that registered it $6006.13 to get it back :^)

hjk10156964yWft that can still happen??? Thought that freshly expired domains where quarantined so they can't be HiJacKed. I've had an autorenewal fail once would be without my domain of it wasn't quarantined.

Checked all his servers, all his configs and what not... Just to realize the moron forgot to pay his bills (so his domain expired)...
