What started out as a stressful day turned out to be hell. I managed to break sudo... Go me.

    Did you chmod the usr directory? That can break sudo. (Had that a few weeks ago)

    Can you get to a bootloader prompt and add init=/bin/bash ?

    Thankfully it's all solved now! Permissions on the entire machine reset mind.

    A Ubuntu live USB and you should be able to re-chmod everything you want !
    Always keep a live USB at arm's reach :)
