I guess thats the point. They dont have a clue how development works. Thats why they hire us.
Unfortunately sometimes the client thinks they know more than nothing. In those situations its our responsibility to manage their expectations and remind them that they are not the engineers.

“Sorry it doesnt work like that. I cant just copy and paste existing functionality to work in a completely different way. If you want this additional functionality it will incur a good deal more development time (and cost) because its nowhere near as simple as you think it is”

@LLAMS oh well, I'd usually say you're correct, but this guy in particular really undermines my job and thinks that developing something is as fast as designing it. But yeah, I don't blame clients, it's hard to grasp on what we do
