You know if somehow the image could be animated with the bird pecking om the side of your head this would be perfect. By the way @trogus and @dfox good idea on letting people buy the profile items makes them kinda cheap but should pull money from newbies trying to match the veteran ranters

@jckimble Yeah, would love to do animated, but could get crazy way fast. I was thinking maybe subtle eye blinking and head nodding with typing, but getting all the clothing items to align would require some massive restructuring of how avatars are pieced together. Maybe someday.

As for cheapening, I hear you. We have them priced to the point where to look the same as a top contributor it would be costly, so I expect that will be the very rare case. Also note that if they don't have many points, it's because they aren't ranting or commenting, which means you aren't seeing their avatar anywhere, so it's mainly for their own personal enjoyment. Otherwise, if they buy and that encourages them to get more exposure to their high-status items by posting more, then that's great, it's motivated people to be more engaged in the community. Time will tell.
