    I literally don't even know why either, there's about 100 other languages that are better suited for it.

    @sariel Because they think they’re a hardware company and therefore software isn’t a priority.

    @Root yep that is where it goes wrong. PHP is perfectly fine for building the web interface but that does mean you need actual developers not hardware or sysadmin people attempting to write it.

    @hjk101 this. I'm a hardware person (sort of) and oh boy have I seen some ugly code, even by PHP standards. There's only one thing that can top that: PHP code written to provide a web interface for some research project. Especially a hardware research project...

    So just scratch that.

    Frontend design... Bah.

    Let the C firmware / kernel / asm developer do it.

    @iiii My (limited) experience is that they look good and work great. The downfall is that they are a bit pricey, but so far it seems like you get what you pay for.
