klekih13268yI just wanted to try another platform, so that I can host private gitlab servers if needed.
-
RTRMS36908yFree private repos x 1000 @ 10gb per.
Integrated ci.
Integrated project board.
Why would I stick with something that is $7 a month for 5 private, and then I still need to implement an external ci. -
kshep9232678y@RTRMS and that's what got me as well. I think I'm getting a better deal with GitLab but I was wondering if there were any gotchas I wasn't aware of.
-
RTRMS36908y@kshep92 been using it a year, maybe longer and I have not run into any that wasn't a bug
-
I put my private stuff on gitlab, like program solutions.
I put my projects for others to discover on GitHub. -
RTRMS36908y@nblackburn well when you get the same thing AND more, it does. Why pay for less when you can get more for free?
-
@RTRMS It's not the same thing as GitHub is a community and is more exposed if you want your work to get noticed.
On another matter If you can have the same thing and more then it's not the same thing. -
RTRMS36908y@nblackburn yes, but nobody has access to private projects, if you want public and people to find it then github is the obvious choice, but I am not going to pay for private repos when I can get them for free.
At the end of the day the only difference is the url you add as your git origin.
Github already has all my public, open source stuff.
Anybody here moved to Gitlab from GitHub? If so, why?
