Paying attention in standup. My coworkers don't know how to be concise.

I can hear the irritation in my Scrum master's voice when our manager asks a question that will lead to another 5-minute tangent.

Why doesn't the scrum master interrupt them and move forward

@electrineer my manager just interrupts the Scrum master. I have a "technical" manager (meaning he has enough tech background to be curious about the details of what we do but not enough to understand those details) so we end up spending a lot of time explaining or justifying things to him, or telling him that his "clever idea" won't work.

That said, the length of our standups was brought up in our retrospective today, so it seems the Scrum master has run out of patience.

The main issue I have is that our team is partially composed of foreign contractors who for some reason refuse to communicate any way but verbally, filling my calendar with meetings and calls instead of just posting in Slack.
