An old sysadmin configured the idrac interface of a company VMware server to get the IP address trough DHCP. Of course, without a valid IP, the server doesn't start. For you, where was hosted the VM with the DHCP server?

I've seen primary and backup domain controllers running on two VMs, which are running on the same VMWare box.

I think business types just think VMs are a way of pulling computing out of thin air. Example: when told that our VM server at work couldn't host any more VMs, a sales director's suggestion (guy owns 1/2 the company) was if we could put that server onto a VM.
