Poor User instance. Without the reference being stored anywhere, you'll spend the rest of your days either lost and adrift; or end up being scraped up into the garbage.

You poor guy. Your instance of User will be garbage collected, because you are not specifying a field or adding it to any Collection. At least a bit Memory will be freed.
