I finished a side-project and made a simple C# and WPF program to help you track financial goals. It splits up your paycheck based on what you want (like 10% towards a new car, and $25 towards dinner out).

It has zero netcode and is open-source. There isn't even the most basic
of analytics

    Ok so I’m gonna port that to F# for fun and… ehm… profit. Wait, that’s a name of a website… oh well. Anyhow, just what I needed tbh. Thanks mate!

    @AlgoRythm sounds good. I just kind of wanted an excuse for a new F# quickie side project, just to do something with it. At the same time I like this as an utility, considering how shitty I am at saving munty hunty. But I use MacOS at work and Linux at home, so WPF kind of doesn’t really serve me 😅

    Except for the fact that my web banking app automatically categorizes expenses & income & gives you analytics and features to allocate your money to goals, and there's a ton of spreadsheet software that would allow me to do this..

    @AlgoRythm but isn't there already budgeting apps?

    I use Mint for all my finances but stopped caring how much I spend anymore.

    Very different from back in the college days though...

    @donuts yeah I'd bet. Just wanted to work on something WPF and C# and landed on the simplest, most private money saving thing I could make

    Even if I didn't finish it I would probably use a spreadsheet because I don't trust financial software not to try and sell me a fuckin of bullshit
