arminiae5658yReally? It looks pretty packed from where I'm sitting.
Maybe it's coz they moved all the fun stuff to gamescom.. -
CeBIT ... In the late 90s/ early 00s I have been there a couple of times. Always at 8am, just when they opened up so I'd have seen the major things when at noon you couldn't walk anymore because of the masses. It was really like "dude, go to cebit!" Nowadays it is more like "cebit? Naaa thanks, I am good" the decline in CeBIT kind of feels like the decline of Germany. What do we have high technology wise? What major cool must have tech comes from Germany these days? Cars? Naaa, that time is over. Even Internet connection speed wise we are a 3rd world country. Maybe they are connected? CeBIT and Germany?

nyjan10788yI just read that they want the next ones to be yet a day shorter. Also they want it to be more event-like with concerts and stuff to make it "fit for generation y"...

nyjan10788y@mrmarbury That's just what I thought. I can post the link to the interview if you want, but it's German.
-
@nyjan I am German 😉 But spare me the details on this please. Knowing that they want to do THAT with CeBIT is information enough.

nyjan10788y@mrmarbury Hehe, I will, for this time. 😉 But in case you feel the need for some vicarious embarrassment, the article is on heise. And I only scratched the surface, didn't want to read into it any further..
Been to the CeBIT.
Its so sad to see what happened to this event.
In the past it was crowded with people.
Now many halls are empty.
I think they will give up in some years.
