How can you tell if there is a transparent proxy server between you and the internet?

I'd just do a whatismyip.com or something look up and see if that knd of matches your location. Geoiptool.com is a good one for this

I got a worm virus while doing those....and a transparent proxy could as well be in near my location as well, right? I have approx. three different regions showing up as my location at different times (within a same country) but this could be as well my ISP's assigning different IP address from different location, I assume. So, is there any other way to tell? :( @linuxxx
