I consider my personality to be a filter. It can filter out the douche bags pretty quick if they don't like me. If you cannot be yourself, what is the point?

@Demolishun maybe it was too soon for him to handle. So if I don't know the person, I won't be too much me.

What humour are we talking here? If he's cracking PG jokes and you wade in with a joke about sex workers screwing chickens, you're going to get a weird reaction. If it's on the same sort of level, then he sounds like an arse.

@AlmondSauce haha.. nothing like that. We were chatting and he's like a senior. He is generally a funny guy, I was uptil now talking formally and inserted some jokingly which was nothing double meaning. He literally replied rudely.

atheist99223ySounds like an asshole. Find better people.
That whole "be less me so people will like me" is bs. Find people that are more your speed. -
Care too much? ❌
Care not at all ✔️
That's usually how these things play out. Get your mind right and not care about outcomes by removing your self interest but still acting.
You can be even more yourself if the outcome doesn't matter (or not worried about what others do or think). So caring not at all here is not without care but without care about outcomes.
I irritated a guy with great sense of humour, with my sense of humour.
Don't try hard, don't be yourself. Don't be nervous.
