Fuck you, insomnia.. You're a bastard.

/(o.o)\

That's it, I don't have enough energy for more. Pretty sure this "sleep every second night" pattern is involved somehow though...

When I am in insomnia I take in 12% of alcohol (Can Beer). There you go, you' ll be sleeping in no time. I am not sure about health issues but it does the trick and I am alive.

@PoweredByCoffee, each to their own ideas I guess.. (:

Insomnia is nothing new to me, it just gets to be a bit too much to handle sometimes.

Maybe there is a reason you can't get any rest?
Do you have any issues you keep pushing away but you think about them at night? Try meditation or try writing down what grinds your gears.

Also it can help to do something physical which will exhaust your body and give you this "well-deserved sleep". Sports, driving around with the bike a little or even just going for a walk before bed (worked very well for me) can help.

If nothing else helps try to stay away from any screens one hour before bed. Read a book or listen to some music, draw something or whatever you like to do off the computer/mobile.

I had the same problem a few years ago, but gym really helped. I did kung fu so meditation was an important part of the training, also acupuncture seems to have helped.

Unfortunately, since I moved to the UK, I am doing kung fu anymore, so atm I only go to a normal gym (I try to run as much as possible) and drink camomile before going to bed.

Hope my experience can help you somehow :)

Thanks for the suggestions.. I must admit, I haven't been as physically active lately as I should be, which contributes a lot towards this.

It's not a case of me not knowing what I should do, it's a case of me not doing what I should... I've only got myself to blame for this one. :/

Yes i know exactly what you mean. And honestly, i haven't gotten myself to do what i know i should do either. The only reasons i am physically active right now is because i work at a plant vendor, which is really physically exhausting work. But if i wouldn't lose a job if i didn't kick myself every Saturday, i wouldn't do any physical activities..

Maybe you have to find something you have to commit to and which will have consequences if you don't do it.

Another good way is to meet up with people who like sports naturally. I have a friend I regularly jump on the trampoline with, and because he always asks me about that, I end up jumping on the trampoline pretty often.
